Attend Dooda Desert Rock Music Festival and Fundraiser

WHAT: Dooda Desert Rock Music Festival and Fundraiser

The event is being organized by our ally, Dooda Desert Rock, a coalition of concerned Navajos working to stop the plant. The event is a great opportunity to learn more, demonstrate opposition to the plant, meet the people who would be affected and have some fun listening to great music.

More than 1000 people are expected to attend.

WHEN: August 2-3, 2008 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

WHERE: Dooda Desert Rock Camp, Chaco Rio, NM

DIRECTIONS: From Gallup, take Highway 491 North. Go 70 miles (you'll see a sign that reads Sanostee, NM). Take the first right turn on road number 5092. Its a well-maintained, graded dirt road. Go 10 miles to the DDR Camp in Chaco Rio, NM. You'll see red ribbons and signs along the 10 miles.

ACTIVITIES: Live contemporary Native American music; poetry readings; campfire stories; and talks by Dooda Desert Rock President Elouise Brown, tribal elders and others
