Tell Opponents to Drop Clean Cars Lawsuit

On November 27, the Environmental Improvement Board and the Albuquerque-Bernalillo Air Quality Control Board voted to approve Clean Car standards for New Mexico. Unfortunately, four state legislators and a handful of businesses have filed a lawsuit against the Environmental Improvement Board attempting to delay real progress on solutions to global warming. Please contact them NOW and tell them not to play games with New Mexico's Clean Car standards.

Letter	Representative Hanosh, Representative Trujillo, Senator Smith and Senator Jennings, I am disheartened to learn about your lawsuit against the Environmental Improvement Board regarding the Clean Cars Program. The Clean Cars Program will help to reduce air pollution, cut global warming emissions and save drivers money at the pump. It is a win-win policy with broad public support. For example, more than 2,000 written and in-person comments were received in support of the program during its rulemaking. I am one of these supporters. At a time when scientists are calling for significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in order to avoid the worst effects of a warming planet, we don't have time to play games with New Mexico's Clean Car standards.
