Clean Cars Public Meetings To Be Held in Las Cruces and Santa Fe

The New Mexico Environment Department will be holding a series of public meetings on the proposed Clean Cars standards on June 25 in Las Cruces and June 26 in Santa Fe.

 

Clean Cars regulations are being developed by the department as directed by Governor Richardson's December 2006 executive order.

 

Upcoming Meetings

Las Cruces: Monday, June 25, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Board of Trustees Room at the Mesilla Town Hall, 2231 Avenida de Mesilla in Mesilla.

Santa Fe: Tuesday, June 26, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Rio Grande Room at the Toney Anaya Building, 2550 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe.

At the Open Houses, Environment Department staff will be available to discuss the development of the clean car standard and the related benefits to air quality, health and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The Environment Department is soliciting comments on the scope of the proposed regulation through July 10, 2007.
