Environment New Mexico

Environment New Mexico is a nonprofit organization that combines independent research, practical ideas and tough-minded advocacy to overcome the opposition of powerful special interests and win real results for New Mexico’s environment. We have compiled this legislative scorecard as a tool to educate New Mexico citizens about the voting records of their elected officials.

Votes In This Scorecard

Of the hundreds of bills voted on in New Mexico’s House and Senate, we identified a few key votes that will have the greatest impact on New Mexico’s environment and public health. Short descriptions of each bill can be found on the reverse, and more details are available on our Web site.

We have scored both floor votes and committee votes, since many important issues are decided at the committee level and are not voted on by all legislators.

Federal Scorecard

Environment New Mexico also tracks how our congressional delegation votes as they represent our state Washington, D.C.
